Chamarel is a village in the south-west of Mauritius. Close thereby you find a tourist attraction, the Seven Coloured Earths. It’s an area of dunes of sand of seven different colours, which spontaneously separate into different layers.
Depending on the time of your visit, and thus the position of the sun, and the angle you behold the dunes, the appearance is different. So there might be seven sands of different colours, but the overall picture can be quite dramatically.
But always breathtaking.
