Quick update on Ava, which was now reclassified as “overland depression”, I guess from point of view of Mauritius. Not sure what the people in Madagascar think of this wording, as it now hits them, as you see in the satellite image. But at least the cloud pattern indicates that the storm has lost some of its power even over there.
We had strong rains and winds. It was raining like crazy at times, for hours. As of now, we just have an overcast sky and some light rainfall from time to time. It seems it’s over, at least for us here on the island.
Let’s see what the rest of the cyclone season has in petto.
Update 8 Jan: aaand… – the cyclone season has something up its sleeve indeed! A “severe tropical storm”, Irving, has formed…
